I first heard the guitar riff on the chorus when I was in college. I'm not positive which album it was on, but I think it was on a Phil Keaggy album. One of the reasons I think it was Phil Keaggy is that the original riff was in the key of D and he has a very high voice. I moved the riff down one string and play it in the key of A. I have been playing the riff for years but one day the chorus came to me. It took me several months to write the verses. LORD OF THE SUN by James E. Believing you, old Abraham sought to make the promise come true Through ways that had a prayer of actually happening. But you said, "No," to every one. Your plan of long ago would run it's course. Your Word would remain true. Refrain: 3. And finally Sarah had a child of laughter That fulfilled your promise made to them so long ago. Yes, in that child the nations swirled That you had said would change the world some day. And your promise was true. Refrain:
