This is my personal favorite. I am not a great musician, but I have learned a few tricks along the way. This piece is an example of that. Much of the accompaniment is a result of laying down several tracks in order to fill in the thin spots created by my own weaknesses. This song, on the other hand, is what it is. This is by far my favorite style of playing on the classic guitar--a combination of a melody line supported by a strumming harmony on the other five strings. THE FLIGHT Words by Sara Teasdale, music by James E. Nelson We are two eagles Flying together Under the heavens, Over the mountains, Stretched on the wind. Sunlight heartens us, Blind snow baffles us Raveled and thinned. We are like eagles, But when Death harries us, Human and humbled When one of us goes, Let the other follow, Let the flight be ended, Let the fire blacken, Let the book close.
